Court will soon be in session.

Nationally-acclaimed painter/illustrator/caricaturist Court Jones will be stopping through St. Louis to teach a 2-day workshop in portrait painting using the alla prima method. Alla prima (Italian, meaning "at first attempt"), is a painting technique, used mostly in oil painting, in which layers of wet paint are applied to previously administered layers of wet paint.

Court previously served as instructor at the famous Watts Atelier of the Arts in California. His clients include Atlantic Records, Upper Deck, Rolling Stone Magazine, Wired Magazine, The Washington Post, The San Diego Union-Tribune, San Diego Uptown News and Blizzard Entertainment, among others.

He has received recognition from institutions including the San Diego Portrait Society and International Society of Caricature Artists.
