CURRICULUM
Draw Realistic Portraits
You'll grasp fundamental concepts of proportions, shading, and facial features. Through step-by-step guidance and hands-on exercises, build your portrait-drawing skills in a supportive learning environment.
This material encompasses the structural generalities of the human face – the features we all share. We will focus on the 4 major facial features, eyes, ears, nose and mouth. Lectures and demonstrations illustrate the basic geometric structures of the skull and facial features. We will present concepts to help students understand the facial features 3-dimensionally, while discussing relevant anatomical information along the way.
In our last class, we will bring it all together by drawing a long drawing. Students will have the opportunity to apply the concepts learned in previously classes. This practical approach enables them to gain insights into how theoretical principles translate into tangible outcomes.
Students will engage in a series of carefully-crafted, timed drawings. Instructor will be present to provide guidance and answer questions.
